Chapter 22

1 THEN the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead; for raiders had come to the camp and slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.

2 Twenty-two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.

3 And he walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for he was the son of Ahab's sister.

4 He also committed many sins and did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab; for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction,

5 Because he walked after their counsel, and went with Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Aram at Ramath-gilead; and the Arameans smote Joram.

6 And he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which he had received at Ramtha, when he fought with Hazael king of Aram. And Ahaziah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel because he was sick.

7 And the destruction of Ahaziah was determined by God, who decreed that he should go to Joram; for when he was come, he went out with Joram to meet Jehu the son of Jamshi, whom the LORD had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.

8 And when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, he found the princes of Judah and the sons of the brothers of Ahaziah who ministered to Ahaziah and slew them.

9 And he sought Ahaziah and he caught him (for he was hiding in Samaria) and brought him to Jehu; and when they had slain him, they buried him; for they said, He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no one with power to rule over the kingdom.

10 Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the king's sons of the house of Judah.

11 But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, stole Joash the son of Ahaziah from among the king's sons who were about to be slain, and hid him and his nurse in her bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiadah the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah), hid him from Athaliah so that she did not slay him.

12 And he was hid with her in the house of the LORD six Years; and Athaliah reigned over the land.

2 Охозии было двадцать два года, когда он стал царём, и правил он в Иерусалиме один год. Его мать звали Аталия, она была внучкой Омри.

3 Он тоже ходил путями дома Ахава, потому что мать была ему советчицей на злые дела.

4 Он делал зло в глазах Вечного по примеру дома Ахава, который стал ему, на его же погибель, советником после смерти его отца.

5 Это их совету он следовал, отправляясь с царём Исраила Иорамом, сыном Ахава, воевать против Хазаила, царя Сирии, под Рамот Галаадский. Сирийцы ранили Иорама,

6 и он вернулся в Изреель, чтобы оправиться от ран, нанесённых ему при Рамоте в битве с Хазаилом, царём Сирии. Тогда иудейский царь Охозия, сын Иорама, отправился в Изреель навестить Иорама, сына Ахава, потому что тот был ранен.

7 Но в воле Всевышнего было то, чтобы гибель Охозии произошла во время его прихода к Иораму. Когда Охозия пришёл, он вышел с Иорамом навстречу Иеву, сыну Нимши, которого Вечный помазал, . чтобы истребить дом Ахава.

8 Исполняя приговор дому Ахава, Иеву нашёл приближённых царя Иудеи и племянников Охозии, которые сопровождали Охозию, и перебил их.

9 Затем он отправился на поиски Охозии, и его люди схватили Охозию, когда тот прятался в Самарии. Он был приведён к Иеву и казнён. Его удостоили похорон, потому что говорили: «Он был сыном Иосафата, который всем сердцем искал Вечного». Так из дома Охозии не осталось никого, кто был бы в силах удержать царскую власть.

10 Когда Аталия, мать Охозии, увидела, что её сын мёртв, она встала и убила всю царскую семью Иудеи.

11 Но Иехошева, дочь царя Иорама, взяла Иоаша, сына Охозии, выкрала его из среды царских сыновей, которых должны были убить, и спрятала его вместе с кормилицей в спальне. Так Иехошева, дочь царя Иорама и жена священнослужителя Иодая, сестра Охозии, укрыла ребёнка от Аталии, и та не смогла его убить.

12 Он прятался у них в храме Всевышнего шесть лет, пока Аталия правила страной.

7 And the destruction of Ahaziah was determined by God, who decreed that he should go to Joram; for when he was come, he went out with Joram to meet Jehu the son of Jamshi, whom the LORD had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.

7 Но в воле Всевышнего было то, чтобы гибель Охозии произошла во время его прихода к Иораму. Когда Охозия пришёл, он вышел с Иорамом навстречу Иеву, сыну Нимши, которого Вечный помазал, . чтобы истребить дом Ахава.

8 And when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, he found the princes of Judah and the sons of the brothers of Ahaziah who ministered to Ahaziah and slew them.

8 Исполняя приговор дому Ахава, Иеву нашёл приближённых царя Иудеи и племянников Охозии, которые сопровождали Охозию, и перебил их.

9 And he sought Ahaziah and he caught him (for he was hiding in Samaria) and brought him to Jehu; and when they had slain him, they buried him; for they said, He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no one with power to rule over the kingdom.

9 Затем он отправился на поиски Охозии, и его люди схватили Охозию, когда тот прятался в Самарии. Он был приведён к Иеву и казнён. 10 Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the king's sons of the house of Judah.

10 Когда Аталия, мать Охозии, увидела, что её сын мёртв, она встала и убила всю царскую семью Иудеи.

11 But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, stole Joash the son of Ahaziah from among the king's sons who were about to be slain, and hid him and his nurse in her bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiadah the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah), hid him from Athaliah so that she did not slay him.

11 Но Иехошева, дочь царя Иорама, взяла Иоаша, сына Охозии, выкрала его из среды царских сыновей, которых должны были убить, и спрятала его вместе с кормилицей в спальне. Так Иехошева, дочь царя Иорама и жена священнослужителя Иодая, сестра Охозии, укрыла ребёнка от Аталии, и та не смогла его убить.

12 And he was hid with her in the house of the LORD six Years; and Athaliah reigned over the land.
